There are two types of primers. Blockers and Grippers. Slick Stick is a "gripper" and we recommend you use, as follows:
  1. First, clean your piece with White Lightning to rid your piece of wax, oils, dust, and peeling rust or paint.
  2. Start with a damp brush and apply one coat of Slick Stick and allow it to dry for 2-3 hours.
  3. Apply second coat of Slick Stick and allow the two layers to dry overnight. ...
  4. Start painting!

Dry time:

1st coat: 2-3 hours   

2nd coat: at least 8 hours
